This past June we had the privilege to photograph two very good friends of ours wedding. It’s always a little more nerve racking photographing a friends wedding, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Both the wedding and reception took place at Graylyn’s in Winston-Salem, NC. God gave us a perfect day for the outside event. It was an absolute gorgeous wedding, and we had a blast capturing it. Thanks again, Cullen and Jen for allowing us to be part of your special day. Here are just a few moments in time from that lovely June day.

Time Keeps on Ticking

I recently picked up a new watch from Timex. It is the new Expedition E-Tide Temp Compass. So far the watch is super sweet. It’s very comfortable and very light weight for its size. It has all kinds of handy features, plus it even tells time very well. It’s a pretty large face, which is kind of the style I like; but to each there own.

Summer at the Scott’s

Summer at the Scott's

DANG! Sorry everyone, but it has been over a month since my last post. Time flies when your having fun; wait a sec, I’m working , I’m not having any fun. JK. Speaking of work, here is a photo I snagged at 6:15 in the morning down in Hampstead, NC. Hampstead is located about 30 min. north of Wilmington, NC. A few friends(co-workers) and I, went down to Hampstead to shoot for Home Depot. We got some really nice photos for their new patio furniture line, but this photo is still one of my favorites.

Once again, sorry for the lack of posting, but more will follow soon.

Beach Thunderstorms

I’ve been on vacation all this week. Yeah I know, lucky me. Anyway, I’ve been at Wrightsville Beach, NC testing out my new and first ever point-and-shoot digital camera. I picked up a Canon G9. This is a sweet, but not so little ps camera. But it sure beats carrying around my Canon 5d w/ vertical grip and 70-200 attached.

To make a long story short, when I arrived at the beach there was a crazy T-storm that rolled in that evening. I got to test out the time-lapse feature on my G9. Below is the short time-lapse film, and above is a still of lighting I cut from the film. Watch closely to the left side of the film. It definitely looks like a tornado is about to touch down. Scary, but cool.

Billy & Summer

I recently just photographed a good friend of mine, Billy and his wife Summer’s wedding at the first of this month. The wedding and reception both took place on Summer’s grandfather’s farmland in Mt. Airy, NC. It was definitely warm that day, but the clouds rolled in and cooled off the upper 90 degree temperatures quite nicely. A big thanks to Billy and Summer for allowing us to photograph their special day, and congratulations. Check back soon to see more images from this lovely farm wedding.

Todd’s Little 600

A few weeks ago, me and my friend Todd went to a near by field to test out his new Align Trex 600 Nitro . At that point he had had it for about a month, and was still getting used to all the ups and downs of the little helicopter.

The Trex 600 is a very high tech R/C. This isn’t one of those remote control vehicles you just put some batteries in it and go. You definitely need some practice time with this little machine. In fact, it is so complex they even make flight simulator software for the Trex 600. This way you can keep crashing it and doesn’t cost anything to fix.

The day we went out Todd was feeling quite comfortable with normal flight, so he decided to switch a few settings around and try flying the helicopter inverted. Let’s just say, it didn’t go quite as planned. A few seconds into the flight, and the next thing I know I was hiding behind a large pile of gravel, taking cover from flying debris. Some how Todd had lost complete control over the 4′ long carbon fiber blades that control the Trex 600. It instantly flew straight into the ground and proceeded to run uncontrollably. The blades where breaking apart and flying all over the place. Luckily it soon ran out of gas, and we didn’t die. As I said before, not your typical R/C vehicle.

Needless to say, Todd wasn’t too happy about his new broken toy. You can see his new found excitement in the last picture above.
